As a computer scientist with 13+ years of app development under my belt, I thought I had the digital world figured out. Then my body had other plans. In my early 30s, years of computer work finally caught up with me: neck tension, eye strain, and fatigue.

The wake-up call came from a book: "Deskbound: Standing Up to a Sitting World." Suddenly, I realized just how serious the health risks of our modern work habits really are. I went looking for an app solution – and came up empty-handed.

So I built one myself.

From personal solution to community tool

DeskRest started because I got tired of my own bad habits. With my years in the tech world, I know firsthand how tough it is for developers and knowledge workers to maintain healthy work habits.

DeskRest is my most personal project. It's an authentic solution that I use every single day, constantly refining it for our growing community of health-conscious professionals.

Why workplace wellness matters to me

I believe workplace health is one of the defining issues of our time. Nearly every knowledge worker deals with the consequences of prolonged screen time, yet effective preventive solutions are still surprisingly rare.

With DeskRest, I want to change that. Not through complicated systems or annoying reminders, but with intelligent, respectful technology that adapts to your actual work patterns.

What drives me

Millions of people use computers for work every day – and every day, preventable health problems arise from it. I firmly believe technology can be part of the solution, not just the problem.

DeskRest is my contribution to a healthier digital workplace. An app that doesn't just work, but genuinely helps people work more consciously and healthily.
